FreeStar Subsea Services was founded by two entrepreneurs with years of experience in the subsea world: Willem de Vries (Vriezoo ROV Services) and Mark van der Star (Mark Offshore). Drawing on their different backgrounds, Willem with his expertise in ROV technology and customised solutions and Mark with his experience in offshore consultancy and management, they saw the same opportunity: to build an organisation that could offer customers the complete package.
That complete picture revolves around the SSV Navicula Star, our flagship and the heart of Freestar. Here we combine all the disciplines necessary for successful underwater projects, such as consultancy, qualified personnel and ROV solutions. Everything under one roof, with a single point of contact and short lines of communication.
Our strength lies in practical pragmatism combined with technical depth. We continue where others stop and carry out projects with a constant focus on safety, quality and reliability. With more than 20 years of experience in the offshore industry we have carried out countless projects worldwide for both large Tier 1 operators and local parties.
This means we always take safety and preparation seriously. At sea, there is no room for error. That is why we work in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001 standards, and for the Navicula Star, we voluntarily apply the ISM system to further guarantee processes and safety.
